Overall ResultsThe 2007 LASERTRON World Championships was the first year with two divisions of play. More teams than ever before competed for one of the largest cash prizes ever offered for a laser tag tournament anywhere. Players switched teams and new teams formed for the ultimate laser tag contest. Players from as far away as Sweden gave it their all in the tournament. Also a tournament first, some team events were 8-player while others were 4-player events. Division 1 - Team Event Results

This year, an improved Top Gun team mostly representing Laser Flash in Carmel, Indiana became the top money earning team. Their 8-player squad came out on top in both the Quad Sport and Team Sport events with one of their 4-player teams taking 1st in Team Free-For-All. All events were more competitive that ever this year. Barely 3000 points separated 3rd and 1st in the Quad Sport event and many other finals were tight games.
For the third straight year, Zack Barry (representing The Professionals), from XP LaserSport (shown above), was the big individual winner. Zack, who plays under the code name "CyberWolf", competed with four other players in the 2nd Annual Top Player contest, winning $500. The contest between four of the best players from the tournament (as voted on by team captains) occured immediately following the main tournament. The four players competed in three formats to determine the best player. Zack won all of the heats making him the best individual LASERTRON laser tag player on the planet and cementing his dominance of the game. Other players in the Top Player award included: Kyle Kimmerly (Jim Bates) representing Top Gun, Randy Meding (Bhodi Li) also representing The Professionals, and Scott Altpeter (Havok) representing Noobs & Boobs. In the picture above, players await the player meeting prior to the beginning of the laser tag tournament. In addition to the Top Player contest, all tournament players were eligible for the Solo Elimination tournament. In the Solo Elimination finals, fifteen players competed in against each other. Each player could be tagged up to seven times before being eliminated. The winner was determined by score. Bhodi Li took the year for the first time ever. The results were as follows: Solo Elimination Results

Top Gun mostly from Laser Flash Laser Tag in Carmel, Indiana (near Indianapolis) took home top honors from the four team events this year with their teams winning three of four laser tag events.
Despite some new faces, OverPower remains a powerhouse in LASERTRON laser tag competitive play with a second, third and fourth place finish in the team events.
The Professionals, another team from XP LaserSport, placed fourth or higher in every event with two strong four-player squads.
Two of last year's successful teams combined to form Nortretoaster for this year's tournament. The 8-player squad took fourth place in both of the large team events.
Noobs and Boobs included players from around the country and around the world. The team performed well, earning a third and a fourth place finish. The team is unique as all but one player consider other laser tag systems as their home system.
In another team combination, players from Chicago combined with New York players to form Luigi-Tron. Aurora's (IL) Luigi's Fun Center is host to the first regional laser tag tournament of the season September 29 and 30.
All of our Division 2 squads were four-player teams who combined to form eight-player teams. Peacekeepers/Locals were the dominate team. The Peacekeepers, another team originating from XP LaserSport, swept all Division 2 events, whether 4 or 8-player. They combined in the 8-player events with the Locals, a group of young players from LASERTRON in Amherst.
Clearly one of the most fun teams and winning the award for best unplanned team names, Team Flaming Car (so named because they were late due to a car fire) and the Guys from Pennsylvania were two four-player squads who formed an 8-player team. All told, players and teams split over $4700 in prize money, making the LASERTRON World Championships the highest paying laser tag tournament in the country. 57 players received prize money from the event.
All the players enjoyed Saturday at Circle C Ranch. In addition to playing on a different laser tag arena, players got to enjoy all the other activities of the Ranch, including swimming, horseback riding and a rock climbing wall. Players were treated to lunch and dinner, Circle C style, and enjoyed frequent trips to Miss Kates for milshakes and other treats. Horseback riding was a favorite activity, but the four-square court located outside Circle C's laser tag arena was a highly competitive alternative to laser tag.
