2005 was the inaugural year for the LASERTRON World Championships. The tournament was a huge success. Everyone enjoyed the tournament formats, the atmosphere and great laser tag play.

Team Event Results

*Note: An error in score keeping resulted in a miscalculation. In a very tight series, Unholy Union actually scored slightly more points than Heaven's Wrath. The error was not noticed until after the tournament and the announcement that Heaven's Wrath was 3rd for the event. Due to the error and the tight game play, both teams will be considered "tied" for third place.

Team OverPower from XP LaserSport in Laurel, Maryland swept all of the events, including placing all eight of their players in a Top Gun Solo Finals. As a team, they did not record a loss in any event. Their total domination of the tournament resulted in $2800 in prize money for the team.

For 2006, Team OverPower has agreed to split up except for one event. The 2006 Championships will be a whole new ball game!

Zack Barry, from XP LaserSport was the Solo Champion. He received a $400 check in addition to his team earnings. Zack will be back to defend his title in 2006.

Team Fusion was the second best team of the tournament. Fusion placed 4th or higher in every event. Composed primarily of tournament players from Laser Storm, this team surprised at the tournament and vowed to return in 2006. Many of Team Fusion's players got LASERTRON experience while playing the Armageddon Multi-System Tournament.

Team Amalgamation was composed of players from around the country. This team played for the first time together during the tournament. Yet, they played well, placing 2nd in Team Free-For-All and 3rd in Shields Recharge.

Team Nortresal also placed 4th or better in every event. The home field team will be revamped for 2006 and promises to improve on their play for the next World Championships.
